
Poster Festival Ljubljana 09, a new Festival and the accompanying event of the 4th Biennial of Slovenian Visual Communication, will take place in Ljubljana from 11 May to 17 May 2009. Through the medium of poster it will illuminate the issue of climate change and unite five culturally very rich countries: Slovenia, Poland, Holland, Croatia and Finland. A rich and versatile programme will take place at different locations in the city centre and will enrich the cultural activities of the capital, attracting and uniting all generation groups. The Festival organized by the Brumen Foundation, will round up with four exhibitions: an eco debate, eco urban living rooms and accompanying events throughout the week. The organization of the Festival is sponsored and supported by the Municipality of Ljubljana and the EU Culture Programme.
During the Festival the capital will become an eco living room, in which numerous activities will take place from 11 May to 17 May: visiting exhibition of Polish posters on the topic of co-existence, exhibition of internationally acclaimed poster designers on social topics, international student workshop and competition of young poster artists on the topic of climate change, ecologically oriented debate and interesting ways of having fun are just some of the activities that will enrich the capital during the Festival.

COMPETITION
Designing posters on the topic of climate change was a big challenge for all young artists under 35 years of age. The conclusion of the competition brought many new ideas and the recycling of old ones. The works will be evaluated by an international jury of acclaimed poster designers: Dimitris Arvanitis, Greece; Anthon Beeke, Holland; Anette Lenz, France; Piotr Młodozeniec, Poland; Bruno Monguzzi, Switzerland.
WORKSHOP
The international workshop on poster design on the topic of climate change will host 100 students from partner academies and will be conducted by international masters of graphic design: Bruketa&Žinić, Croatia; Jason Grant, Australia; Čedomir Kostović, Bosnia-Herzegovina/USA; Alain Le Quernec, France; Filip Pagowski, Poland/USA; Annik Troxler, Switzerland.
MASTERPIECES
The exhibition of international poster designers on social topics. More than 100 acclaimed poster designers from all over the world will present their works at the grand exhibition in the National Gallery.
CO-EXISTENCE
The visiting exhibition of the Polish competition organized by the city of Warsaw and the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts on the topic of “co-existence”. The winning posters from the competition are included in the works of the travelling exhibition “Coexistence”, organized by the Seam Museum in Jerusalem, Israel.
