Poster Festival Ljubljana '09

1st european youth poster competition on a social topic

We are still not sufficiently aware of the link between ourselves and all living beings. Recently scientists and nature itself have been ringing alarm bells with evidence that speaks for itself – yet it is still not moving those with responsibility to respond faster, or at least more convincingly to the environmental crisis. The future depends on our common awareness and responsibility regarding what we can put right and how we must start to function in our relation to nature for a more promising future.

From 11th to 16th May, 2009 Brumen Foundation will be holding the international event “Poster Festival Ljubljana ’09” as a supporting programme of 4th Biennale of Visual Arts.

The Festival consists of five main events:
Competition in poster design on the topic of Climate Change,
Workshop for students in poster design on the topic of Climate Change,
Masterpieces, exhibition of socio-political posters by international poster designers,
Coexistence, exhibition from Poland,
Eco debate on the topic of Climate Change.

Aims of the Event

• through the medium of posters communicate to a global audience important socio-political messages
• to assemble an outstanding collection international posters
• to present Ljubljana as a modern, creative, open, evolving and cultural European city
